Reforestation of protected areas inhabited by indigenous people called Dumagats of Tanay, Rizal (Philippines)

Mapua University has been a member of the Earth Care Committee of the Yuchengco Group of Companies (a private non-government organization) which adopted several hectares of land on the mountainous region in Tanay (Rizal). This is a long term reforestation program in response to the growing concern on climate change and hopes to bring back the biodiversity in the area. This endeavor also is helping the indigenous people called “Dumagats” to earn a living by providing manpower in maintaining the area.
