The Program Academic Advisory Panel (PAAP)

    The Program Academic Advisory Panel (PAAP) was created to ensure the formulation and implementation of continuous quality improvement programs of the University.

    The panel members, preferably alumni of the University, were selected and appointed by the respective school deans/department heads based on their program, employment, and industry/professional experiences.

    This panel aims to meet the following objectives:

    1. To ensure that the University academic programs stay attuned to advances in engineering theory and practice.
    2. To sharpen the University’s understanding of and responsiveness to local and global industry manpower needs.
    3. To improve the competitiveness of Mapua graduates with regards to placement
    4. To achieve the proper curricular balance between the classroom and exposure to the workplace, between theoretical and practical knowledge.
    5. To develop meaningful OJT, placement, faculty internship, and other cooperative programs.
    6. To sharpen the Institute’s understanding of local and global industry needs in terms of new knowledge.
    7. To identify sustainable and viable consultancy and R&D projects.
    8. To develop mutually beneficial scholarship and professorial chair programs.
    9. To develop links with communities and apply technology to help solve local problems.

    Members of the panel are task to:

    1. give strategic and tactical advice to the concerned school/department on the attainment of their program educational objectives and program outcomes.
    2. guide the research projects of the University’s faculty which shall be the basis of the advice.
    3. meet with the other members of the panel on an annual or semi-annual schedule.
