In support to sustain the blood bank of the school’s partner hospital, blood donation activity were held twice a year. This activity helped sustain the supply of blood in the partner hospital’s blood bank. Through this facility, Mapúa employees and its partner communities availed the services of the partner hospital by obtaining free blood units for transfusion.
SOCIP announces record high of blood units donated by the Mapúa community to its partner hospital. Based on the data of year 2010 which recorded 143 units, the number of blood units collected for 2016 reached 158, a 10.49 % increase. This means more units available for patients who needed blood transfusion.
