Personal Hygiene for the Kids of Pandacan

The sustainability health program of the University covers the following:

  1. Blood bank as extension program for Mapúa employees and its partner communities.
  2. Disease Prevention - such as health (vaccine administration) and compliance to the Sanitation Code, DOLE Occupational Safety & Health Standards , and other standard requirements of the Philippines;
  3. Awareness and Capacity Building - such as web posting of health relevant information, seminar on first aid and compliance, family planning for employees, dangerous drugs, communicable diseases, and among others;
  4. Adolescent Health Care and other medical, dental services

In support for the University’s initiative of sustaining the blood bank of its partner hospital, blood donation activity programs are held in its campuses twice a year. Mapúa also taps the assistance of fellow Yuchengco Group of Companies (YGC) members to increase the number of blood donors every year and to involve more YGC employees in its efforts. A total of 16,000 cc of blood bags were obtained from the June 2018 blood donation activity.

SOCIP announces record high of blood units donated by the Mapúa community to its partner hospital. Based on the data of year 2010 which recorded 143 units, the number of blood units collected for 2016 reached 158, a 10.49 % increase. This means more units available for patients who needed blood transfusion.
